AutoDesk offers a free student version of AutoCAD for students interested in learning the software. Most homeschoolers will qualify
for this version if they are associated with a nationally recognized homeschooling body.
You will need to register on the AutoDesk website and go through
the process of downloading AutoCAD. It is recommended that you complete this requirement before beginning our program.
You can find more information on the AutoDesk website:
An alternative to AutoCAD is ProgeCAD. The software compares with ACAD in almost every way. I am currently working with ProgeCAD to set up an affiliation link which will give my students a 10% savings on the cad download.
What is good about getting ProgeCAD is that it comes with a lifetime license for a one time fee of $499. Take a look at their website and see what you think. As for our lessons, they will work just fine with either AutoCAD or ProgeCAD.
